Training Principles 4 Climbers (Beta Boulders - Copenhagen, Denmark ) - December 6-7, 2025
Two-Day Training Principles 4 Climbers
Presented in English
Day 1 – Testing & Athlete ProfilingDidactic Session:
Climbing demands and energy system utilization (anaerobic-alactic, anaerobic-lactic, aerobic).
How to use a strain gauge, linear position transducer, and SmO₂ monitor to measure:
Peak force, Rate of force development & power Impulse Anaerobic and aerobic capacity
Hands-On Application: Apply testing protocols with one another (finger- and upper-body–specific). Interpret data to understand athlete physiology.
Supplementary video library provided to reinforce learning.
Day 2 – Programming & Applications
Review & Q&A:
Recap Day 1 material and clarify testing methodology.
Address participant questions before applying concepts.
Programming Training Sessions & Cycles:
How to structure sessions based on Day 1 test data.
Translating test outputs into actionable programming.
Building training cycles for strength, power, anaerobic capacity, and aerobic capacity in climbers (bouldering and rope).
Strategies for progression, overload, and autoregulation.
Biomechanics & Injury Considerations:
Finger and upper extremity mechanics in climbing.
Understanding stress distribution across grips and movement patterns.
Integration of biomechanics into safe, effective programming.
Rehabilitation Applications:
Evidence-informed rehab strategies for common climbing injuries.
Programming rehabilitation into training cycles.
Modifying load and exercise selection for return-to-sport.
